About Our Projects: Early Futures is an ongoing set of resources that works to integrate the insight of children into our futures creation process.
Children’s Think Tank: An action research pilot study that looks to study and develop a language for conceptual research with children. Based on the developmental psychology premise that children are the “research & development” of human-kind, our pilot study was developed to explore a friction occurring in the conceptual goals of major research with children. If children on the one hand can, through us studying their physiological processes, help identify patterns in human capacity and direction, might they also through their conceptual process help identify patterns in human capacity and future philosophical directions? In the Children’s Think Tank children ages five to nine-years-old were assisted in developing their own research projects on ‘deep questions’ or topics they felt were not adequately covered in their normal education program …VIEW THE PROJECT…
Narrative Collection: An ongoing database of narratives as told by young children. Meant to both, reveal the inner worlds of children, and be used as a base to extrapolate meaning in contrast to our assumptions about the conceptual world of children. One set of narratives by four-and five-year-olds was put together into a publication, What We Know About Being Here (view .pdf). Curriculum Notes: An ongoing set of education based dialogue seeds, initial lights, what-have-yous for developing futures oriented curriculum with children. These showcase completed, under-development and idea-only curriculum ideas for working with children in futures oriented learning spaces.
