Children’s Think Tank Meeting 4

Meeting #4

Summary:
Our meeting this week took us out to the library for our first research into external resources to help expand our topics. The children drew and photographed parts of the books that interested them:

(How the universe was made, by Abigail).

(Spencer looking into things that are related to the Earth, i.e. how the Earth was made)

(Sylvie is interested in magic and magic dancers)

(Clara drew from many different images from books on aliens)

After the initial research time, we documented what books each child wanted to find more of, then returned to the classroom for a lecture on Annika + Ellie’s choice interest of alternative research in astral projection. The lecturer, Gregory Sinder, demonstrated astral projection while the children practiced it themselves, with quite fantastic success. He also discussed briefly the relationship of meditation, dreams and astral projection. The children then discussed the struggles and questions of “traveling inside your mind” as well as freely discussed where they went during their astral travels.

(The children practicing, with help from G.S.)

(One drawing of how astral projection works, by Ellie)

Video of lecture, coming soon.

Researchers present: Spencer, Clara, Sylvie, Annika, Lia, Lilah, Ellie, Abigail (8)
Research assistants present: Ashley North Compton, Devon Deimler and Gregory Sinder.
Next week: Independent research in literature, books and videos obtained from library.
