I was planning to build a somewhat conventional “active” playspace, with the help of the Guatemalan parents in the school I support, until I read some of this material on “adventure playgrounds.” I’m not sure how I’ll use these ideas – but at least a sand/water area is immediately going into the plan, and hopefully at some point an area of “creative interaction.” It has exponentially expanded my ideas for use of the small space we have available.
